With the fifteeenth Southside health Fair ( posters sponsored by Smart Therapies, Cavalliert Cosmetics & Mandarina Textiles ) scheduled to take place this Friday at the James Cook University Hospital Atrium, the planning quartet of Shelagh Jones, David Eagle and relative Southside newbies Anthony Atkins & Lloyd Nolan -who introduced his fellow University of Teesside Media production undergraduate Sammi Gee to her first Southside experience on Saturday- are well on course to produce a Valentine Special.

Fourteenth Health Fair - another winner

The Fourteenth Healthy Alternative Fair proved to be a winner with exhibitors and visitors. In addition to the return of Healing Hands with Inge Westerlink, we were delighted to welcome Ruth from BBC Tees, ace reporter Claire Burbage from The Northern Echo ( here with HAFAIR Coordinator Shelagh Jones ) Marie Cunningham with her recently published book and thoroughly enjoy a day which saw our dial-a-vet Stuart Easby have his first harp lesson from Liz Westhead ( seen here looking duly amazed with George Sunley! ). Fr Paul Dowling experienced the wonders of Bush Essentials with Ann Clement, & Linda Vickers providing her inimitable Reiki treatments.

Southside`s thirteenth Healthy Alternative fair took place in the James Cook University Atrium on Friday Sept 14th and provided the usual mix of top complementary therapies, nutritional advice and fascinating craft- oriented material. Gary Wetherall from Bioptron provides Tracy Anne Bousfield with her first light treatment

after which she met up with Bush Essentials` Ann Clement

and had a top Reiki massage with Linda Vickers & the Healing Zone

. The Body Shop at Home proved to be a top attraction

as did ace harp therapist Liz Westhead who together with children`s author and creator of CBBC`s `Bad Penny ` & `Stupid` Dean Wilkinson decided that the prize of a family ticket to Countryside Live in October - kindly donated by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society should go to Linda Vickers & `The healing Zone` ,

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, the largest teaching hospital in Europe, is the current location for Southside Broadcasting`s regular Healthy Alternative Fairs (HAF).

These fairs offer an opportunity for health practitioners from the fields of complementary medicine and craft /lifestyle specialists to exhibit their services and products directly to health professionals, patients and vistors in the hospital atrium.

HAF12- Friday June 1st 2007

Exhibitors from previous fairs have included fruit juices, healthy tanning systems, Indian head massage, Chinese herbalists and healthy catering services. With each fair the range of alternative and complimentary practitioners grows.
